My name is Benjamin, and I understand the journey from the inside. In 1981, I walked out of Georgia State Prison after three years of incarceration. That was over 44 years ago. My complete transformation during that time wasn't because I was special or strong; it was entirely God's work.
The Empty Cell Project exists for one purpose: to put Christian literature directly into the hands of inmates who are searching for a way out of the life that put them behind bars.
I've written two books born from this journey:
"Angel in Cell Block C" tells the story of my own transformation—an honest account of how God met me in my cell and changed everything.
"The Empty Cell: Walking Among the Thorns" serves as both a memoir and a practical survival guide, written specifically for those preparing for release and the treacherous path of reentry.
Every week, I volunteer at Edinburgh Correctional Facility through Kairos Prison Ministry. I personally fund the books I distribute because I believe 100% of donations should go directly to inmate support—no overhead, no administration costs.
This isn't about selling books. It's about reaching men and women at their most desperate moment with transformation stories that convey the message that change is possible.
